Why Choose Strengthening Children’s Program?
Our Mission
Children in grades 3-8 in fragmenting families caused by divorce and separation are experiencing enormous challenges. These often lead to high risk behaviors that may have lifelong impacts.
The Strengthening Children’s Program (SCP™) is designed to enable schools, agencies, clergy, and mental health professionals to have all the materials and information needed to implement this six-session group program that promotes resilience, effective communication, and emotional well-being.
Children gain insights and understanding as well as skills and strategies that empower them. Parents are kept informed of their children’s new knowledge as well as resources so they too, learn how to be supportive of the lessons learned.
What We Provide
The Strengthening Children’s Program (SCP™) includes all the program information needed by group leaders in schools, agencies, clergy, and mental health providers working with children experiencing their family’s divorce and separation in grades 3-8. Children’s resilience and skills are developed in a safe, and supportive environment.
Each cycle of six 45-60 minute sessions includes the necessary tools and details to be implemented confidently and successfully. The program provides promotional materials, lesson plans with timed activities and the handouts for each children’s session as well as weekly informational email letters for parents.
The evaluations of the children, parents and leaders give valuable feedback and meet grantors of program funding requirements. The authors and staff of SCP are available to provide any support group leaders need.
