What is SCP

SCP is a digital curriculum of six 45-minute sessions for group leaders in schools, agencies, mental health practitioners and clergy working with children in grades 3-8 experiencing divorce or separation in their family. SCP:

  • Builds children’s vital communication and coping skills through interactive and experiential activities.

  • Encourages youths’ understanding and resilience that addresses their emotional and social needs during challenging times.

  • Includes resources and weekly email updates for parents of youth participants.

  • Provides schools, agencies and mental health providers with all the information needed to plan, promote, conduct and evaluate the six 45-minute sessions.

How the Program Works

The Strengthening Children’s Program (SCP™) provides an evidence-informed, comprehensive, ready-to-use digital curriculum, for group leaders in schools, agencies, mental health providers and clergy working with children in grades 3-8 experiencing their family’s divorce and separation.

  • SCP includes materials for pre-planning; recruitment of youth; information for parents, an evaluation component and session plans for successful program implementation.

  • SCP can be purchased for individual practitioners, schools, or agencies. Those seeking multiple copies of the curriculum such as a school district with several schools, or agency with multiple chapters, receive a 10% discount on the entire order with each individual entity receiving its personalized digital version.
